Our Swift Nest Box is specifically designed for swifts, providing a safe and comfortable nesting site. Constructed from precision cut exterior grade plywood, it features an environmentally friendly preservative treatment that ensures durability while being kind to birds. The box has a single nesting compartment with an oval entrance hole, making it ideal for swifts while deterring other species like starlings and sparrows.

Installation

To install the Swift Nest Box, secure it externally to a building in a quiet spot, ideally at least 5 meters high beneath the eaves. Ensure there is a substantial clear drop beneath the front of the box for an uninterrupted flight path for the swifts. The box includes six mounting holes on the sides for easy fixing.

Usage

If the nest box is occupied solely by swifts, cleaning is unnecessary. However, if other species such as sparrows or starlings use the box, it is recommended to remove all nesting material during winter when the box is unoccupied, before swifts return in the spring.
