General description

This Barn Owl Nest Box is designed to provide a safe and comfortable roost and nest site for Barn Owls, manufactured from exterior grade plywood and treated with a non-toxic water-based wood preservative. It features a sturdy front platform for owlets to exercise on and a generous weather canopy that protects the entrance hole and landing platform from harsh weather conditions. The box is fully assembled upon delivery, with the exception of the platform, which can be easily fixed in place without tools.

  • Installation

    The Barn Owl Nest Box can be installed either inside a building, such as a barn, or externally fixed to a tree. The platform can be attached before or after the box is positioned.

    Usage

    It is recommended to periodically clean the Barn Owl Nest Box to prevent the accumulation of pellets and debris, which can reduce the volume of the box and allow young barn owls to exit prematurely. The box features a double inspection hatch for easy access to the entire floor area for cleaning or inspection.

    Other information

    Both inspection hatches are designed to prevent rain from entering and are securely held in place with simple fastenings. This product was developed in collaboration with the Barn Owl Trust and other experts.
