General description

This two-pack of vacuum belts is designed to fit selected Vax models. The vacuum belt is a key component of an upright vacuum cleaner, primarily functioning to turn the agitator brush bar, which helps to beat dirt and dust out of carpets. Made of rubber, these belts stretch between the motor pulley and the brush bar/agitator.

Usage

Vacuum belts should be replaced as soon as they become damaged. It is recommended to replace the belt every 4 to 6 months to maintain effective performance, as they can easily become stretched. Signs of a faulty belt include:

The vacuum is on but does not pick up

The vacuum emits a smell of burnt rubber

The vacuum cleaner is harder to push

The brush roll/agitator has stopped spinning

To check for signs of a damaged belt, turn on the vacuum cleaner and lay it on its side. Look underneath to see if the brush bar is spinning; if it does not move, the belt needs to be replaced. A worn belt may appear mis-shaped or show visible signs of wear, such as burn marks.
