US FED Spec Wire Rope Grips are designed for use with wire ropes, particularly in applications such as boating, public areas, and yacht rigging. These grips are essential for creating loops in wire rope, ensuring secure and reliable connections.

    • Installation

  • Prior to fitting, grease the threads on the nuts and bolts.
  • Ensure spacing between grips is at least 6 times the diameter of the rope.
  • Orient the grip correctly, placing the 'U' bolt on the unloaded end of the rope.
  • Tighten each nut evenly and in turn to achieve the recommended torque settings.
  • Leave unused for 24 hours and re-check torque settings, re-tightening if necessary.
  • After the first application of the load, re-check torque settings and re-tighten if necessary.
  • Periodically check the torque settings during service.

    • Usage

    The main use of wire rope grips is to create loops in wire rope, providing a secure connection for various applications.
