Booster pump accessories are designed to complete the installation and even maintain a water booster pump in a home. Whether for a single house or an entire building, a booster pump can be beneficial to counteract insufficient pressure.
The pressure control accessories of a booster pump need to be monitored:
- a pressure switch;
- a meter regulator;
- a pressure gauge.
In other words, these accessories allow for measuring the water pressure. It is worth noting that if the pressure is too high, it can be reduced by installing a pressure reducer. This accessory is placed at the outlet of the meter but after the shut-off valve. The main function of the pressure reducer is to regulate the water pressure to 3 bars (factory setting). However, it is possible to obtain an adjustable model to set the pressure according to the needs of the home.
As for the booster pump, besides the accessories listed above for measuring pressure, it generally includes:
- flange and counter flange;
- bladder;
- pressure limiter;
- valve.
These accessories ensure proper monitoring of the water pressure. Indeed, if the pressure is too high, it can damage household appliances or even the plumbing system; if it is too low, the lack of pressure creates malfunctions.
These accessories wear out over time and can be replaced, such as the replacement bladder for buffer tanks. Its capacity ranges from 19 L to 24 L, or even up to 150 L and more. It is also possible to get a complete booster pump kit with pump, pressure gauge, and pressure switch if the entire pressure regulation system is faulty.
The pressure gauge is the control accessory for fluid pressure, indicating the pressure in bars (B) at its installation point just after the meter. Note that a pressure between 3 bars and 3.5 bars is recommended for a home.
