Description
Drybase Bondaid Plus is a high-performance styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) latex admixture and bonding agent formulated to improve adhesion, strength and durability in cement-based systems. It is designed for use as a primer or gauging solution in render, plaster and screed applications where enhanced mechanical properties and moisture resistance are required.
When incorporated into cementitious mixes, Drybase Bondaid Plus forms a polymer-modified system with improved tensile and flexural strength, excellent adhesion to concrete, brick, tile and timber, and superior resistance to water, vapour and freeze-thaw cycles. It also increases workability and reduces shrinkage on cure.
This white, milky liquid is supplied in 5 and 25 litre jerry cans and has a minimum film forming temperature of 0 degrees C.
Dilution rates vary by application. As a primer, it is mixed 1:8 with clean water and applied to the substrate just before render or plaster. For bonding coats, a 1:2 dilution is used. For mortar and render additives, it is typically diluted 1:4, and for maximum modification in gauging water, a 1:1 mix is used. Its strong plasticising action reduces water demand in site mixes, improving performance without over-thinning. Surfaces must be clean, sound and free from grease, rust or contamination before application. Repairs to concrete must be cut back to solid material.
Drybase Bondaid Plus is suitable for use in both new-build and remedial construction, including damp-proofing, rendering, patch repair and tanking applications.
