General description

The Eco Rocket Bat Box Crevice with a 5m pole is an innovative solution for providing a safe roosting space for bats when traditional mounting options are unavailable. Made from weatherproof recycled LDPE plastic, it features a wooden internal roost chamber that offers a comfortable environment for bats. The design allows bats to move freely within the box, selecting their preferred micro-habitat.

Technical specifications

  • Materials: Recycled LDPE plastic outer with internal OSB roosting chamber
  • Dimensions (Box): Overall height: 860mm, Overall width: 250mm, Overall depth: 240mm
  • Weight: Box: 8 kg; Pole: 28 kg (5 metre)
  • Internal configurations: Crevice (two concentric internal crevices 18mm wide) or cavity (internal chamber with no dividers 45mm wide)
  • UV stabilized for a design life of 20+ years
  • Installation

To securely install the Eco Rocket Bat Box, approximately 1m of the pole should be buried below ground. It is recommended to consult a builder or structural engineer regarding ground conditions before installation. The pole is dispatched separately from the bat box for ease of shipping, and the only tool required for installation is a spanner to fix the box onto the pole.

    Usage

This bat box is ideal for use in mitigation projects, providing an alternative roosting space during building site activities or when no suitable trees or buildings are available. It can be positioned to maximize solar gain or placed along bat corridors, such as hedgerows, to support bat populations.
