General description

The Integrated Eco Cavity Bat Box is designed to provide a permanent roost for bats within buildings. It features a weatherproof shell made from recycled LDPE plastic and an internal roost chamber constructed from orientated strand board (OSB). This bat box is available in two variants: crevice and cavity, catering to different bat species' roosting needs. The box can be seamlessly integrated into various building materials, including brick walls, timber cladding, random stone, and external insulation.

Installation

The bat box is designed to be built into buildings and can be held in place by mortar or sealant.

It should be positioned as high as possible in a sheltered, sunny location.

For optimal conditions, multiple boxes should be installed facing different directions.

Usage

The box requires no maintenance due to its self-cleaning design, allowing droppings to fall out of the entrance slot.

It may take time for bats to discover and occupy the box, so patience is advised.

Signs of occupation include droppings on the landing area and chittering noises from inside during warm afternoons and evenings.
