Description

General description

Lightweight and compact, the Metabo HO 18 LTX 20-82 Planer is designed for planing, rebating, and chamfering. It features an adjustable planer depth and notch depth, making it versatile for various woodworking tasks. The aluminium die-cast and milled cut planer base includes a V-groove for easy chamfering, while the parallel guide ensures precise guiding of the planer. The grip area is equipped with a non-slip soft-grip surface for comfortable handling. Additionally, it offers extraction possibilities by connecting to an all-purpose vacuum cleaner and has an angled chip ejection adapter for controlled wood shavings ejection. The easy-to-empty textile dust bag allows for operation without extraction facilities, and the strap on the planer base helps protect the workpiece. The robust reversible carbide planer blades can be changed easily, and the soft start and overload protection enhance the motor and drive's longevity.

I haven't tried everything yet, but I can say that the fabric chip bag is no good. The chip outlet is immediately blocked, with the result that the chips can be found all over the room. Only the free ejection or the cumbersome installation of a vacuum cleaner can transport the chips safely to the outside. How long this will work with the battery remains to be seen. Otherwise the planer works very powerfully and cleanly.

I have had this 230V planer for many years and find the same machine in an 18V battery with superior mobility. Good material.

    METABOVisit the METABO store
METABO, a brand of the German company Metabo Werke Gmbh, is an epitome of German entrepreneurship. It was founded by Albrecht Schnizler in 1923 in Nürtingen (Baden-Württemberg), in the backroom of his parents' bakery. A passionate inventor, he designed the first hand-held drill capable of piercing metal, which was widely used at the time. Named the n°18, it sold over 50,000 units, mainly in Great Britain. In 1929, Metabo Werke was founded with two other partners; METABO derives from the German Metallbohrdreher, hand drill. Innovations in power tools followed one another: in 1950 came the first grinder, the following year the sander, then a year later the quick-release chuck, and in 1957 a world exclusive: the percussion drill... in all, more than 500 patents and designs were registered. METABO continues to manufacture its saws, hedge trimmers and screwdrivers in Germany: in 2005, more than half the company's employees were based in Germany. By 1999, the Group had become Europe's number 1 in woodworking tools, and the world's second largest.
