Product information

Description

General description

Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain in Oak is an innovative and durable wood protection solution that serves as both a base and top coat in one finish. This product is designed to enhance the natural wood grain while providing exceptional resistance against weather, UV rays, water, dirt, algae, mould, mildew, and fungal attacks. Its microporous and breathable finish ensures that it does not crack, peel, or flake, and it requires no sanding for future applications.

Technical specifications

  • Volume: 750ml
  • Coverage: 26m²/L with one coat
  • Drying time: First coat: 4-6 hours; Second coat: 12 hours
  • Moisture content of wood: max. 20%
  • Application

  • Recommended tools: Osmo Flat Brush or Microfibre Roller
  • Application method: Apply thinly along the wood grain and spread well
  • Surface preparation: Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and frost-free
  • For best results, apply the first coat to all sides before installation
  • Old microporous stains must be cleaned thoroughly, and old paints and lacquers should be completely removed
  • For additional protection against blue stain, rot, and insects, pre-treat the wood with Osmo WR Base Coat if possible
  • Usage

  • For exterior wood surfaces
  • Recoat when signs of wear become visible
  • For renovation works, one coat on a clean and dry surface is usually sufficient
  • To extend the life of the coating, apply a final top coat of Osmo UV Protection Oil Extra 420 Clear after thorough drying (not recommended for White 900)
  • Other information

  • Transparent colours may be influenced by the natural colour of the wood and can deviate from sample colours
  • Light transparent colour tones offer limited UV protection and are not recommended for surfaces exposed to strong sunlight
  • All colour tones can be mixed with each other, available in 186 RAL Classic and 1950 NCS colour tones starting from 2.5 litres per colour tone
  • Many wood species may leach out water-soluble coloured extractives when weathered
  • Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain contains biocides and is intended for outdoor use only
  • Using power washers may decrease coverage, and general cleaners can increase maintenance frequency

I've used this product before, so knew what to expect. It's the best one I have come across for outside wood furniture, in this case an oak table.

This is a great product & I would highly recommend it to others. It’s expensive but worth the outlay.

A very expensive product, unfortunately not sold in smaller quantities. There is good customer information on the product. It is eay to apply and results in a perfect finish. I hope it performs as well over the comming years.

Brilliant product we have treated a log cabin with this product. We first stained the cabin with an Osmo stain then used the clear for a top coat for extra protection. The product applies very easily and a tin will go along way. We are planning on just using this product every few years to keep the protection up as its so easy to apply.

We love Osmo products and this has been perfect for the new weatherboarding on our house. This was a good price for quite an expensive product but we are confident it will do the job and ensure the wood lasts and looks good for longer.
