Description

General description

Osmo Wood Wax Finish Satin in Walnut is designed for all interior wood surfaces, providing all-round protection while allowing the wood grain to remain visible. This durable and hardwearing finish is water and dirt resistant, and can withstand common liquid spillages such as water, juice, tea, cola, and wine. It is also saliva-resistant and sweatproof, making it suitable for children's toys. The microporous, breathable finish does not crack, peel, or flake, and spot repairs or future applications can be done without sanding.

Installation

Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and frost-free.

Remove old microporous stains and completely strip old paints and lacquers.

Fill small cracks and larger joints or holes with Osmo Wood Filler.

Sand the wood surface carefully, starting with coarse sandpaper; final sanding for flooring should be P120-150, and for furniture P220-240.

Remove sanding dust before applying the finish.

For best results, apply the first coat to all sides of the wood before installation.

Usage

For transparent color (one coat): Use an Osmo Flat Brush, Oil Finish Applicator Fleece, or Microfibre Roller to apply very thinly along the wood grain.

For a more subtle stained effect, apply thinly with a lint-free cloth and wipe away within 20 minutes.

For intensive color (two coats): Apply thinly with an Osmo Flat Brush or Microfibre Roller, allowing the second coat to dry before applying.

For mechanically loaded areas like flooring, it is recommended to use a maximum of one coat and a thin top coat with clear Osmo Polyx®-Oil Original.

For white flooring, use a lightly white pigmented Osmo Polyx®-Oil Tints 3040 White as a top coat.

Regular cleaning can be done with the green Dust-Mop from the Osmo Mop Cleaning Kit, and damp mopping with Osmo Wash and Care or Osmo Spray-Mop.

For maintenance, use Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner or Osmo Maintenance Oil.

Recoating can be done by applying one coat onto a clean and dry surface when wear is visible.

Other information

Oils enhance the natural color tone of wood, providing a permanent wet effect.

For dark and extractive-rich hardwoods, it is recommended to apply Osmo Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin.

Trial applications are recommended to determine the best color match.

Caution: Apply a maximum of one thin coat to cabinet interiors and drawers.

Using general or multi-purpose cleaners may increase maintenance frequency.
