The last one lasted at least a year but the mechanism that winds the umbrella up and down broke so we purchased a new one recently. Already it is showing signs of wear in the pulley system. Obviously the mechanics is not durable enough for the weight of the canvas. It’s a shame as the brolly itself is very nice
