Description

General description

Owatrol Oil is a versatile, highly penetrating air-drying oil that can be used alone or added to paint. As a rust inhibitor, it provides a tough, flexible finish by driving out excess moisture and air, effectively stopping rust on metal surfaces. When applied to porous wood, it saturates and protects against moisture damage, preventing paint from peeling. Additionally, when used as a paint conditioner for oil or alkyd-based coatings, it enhances wet edge time, improves flow, and increases adhesion without compromising the paint's quality or appearance.

Usage

Apply as a rust inhibitor on metal surfaces to stop rust.

Use on porous wood to protect against moisture damage.

Add to oil or alkyd-based paints to improve flow and adhesion.

Application tools: Brush, Roller, Airless or HVLP sprayer, Garden sprayer, Pump sprayer.

Do not use with paints containing hot solvents (e.g., Xylene, chlorinated rubber).

Not suitable as a paint conditioner for water-based paints; use Floetrol instead.

Other information

Clean tools and equipment with white spirits while still wet; if dried, remove with paint stripper.

Cover areas not intended for painting.

Test for compatibility when adding to paint.

Store and maintain equipment as directed by the manufacturer.

Wall and ceiling paints are available in a range of colours and finishes - matte, satin, gloss. Whether glycerol-based, acrylic or alkyd, wall and ceiling paints can be single- or multi-coat and may require an undercoat. Cheap white matte at a bargain or high-cost satin finish, it's up to you!
