Our Pole Mounted Roost Maternity Bat Box is designed for optimal bat habitation, providing a choice between a single box or a double box mounted back to back on the same pole. This configuration allows bats to select the box that offers the best thermal conditions throughout the year, as the two boxes will have different solar gains.

Installation

To install the Pole Mounted Bat Box, approximately 1 m of the pole should be buried below ground. It is recommended to consult a builder or structural engineer as ground conditions can vary. The pole will be shipped separately from the bat box and bracket. The only tools required for installation are a spanner or a screwdriver (for the metal band version) to secure the boxes onto the pole.

Usage

This bat box is ideal for locations where there are no suitable buildings or trees for mounting. It can be positioned to maximize solar gain by placing it in an unshaded area or on a hedgerow.
