General description

Zinsser B-I-N® Aqua is a high-performance, white-pigmented, low-odour, water-based synthetic shellac-based knot block primer and sealer. It combines fast drying times with exceptional adhesion and coverage, making it ideal for a variety of surfaces. This primer effectively seals stains and odours, including tannin, knots, sap streaks, and severe water stains, as well as odours from smoke, fire damage, and other contaminants.

Recommended use

Priming interiors: Suitable for wood panels, building boards, doors, frames, PVC, plywood, concrete, glossy paint, and varnish.

Exterior spot priming: Effective for knots, resin, and rust stains.

Interior spot priming: Ideal for water stains and puttied surfaces.

Sealing: Penetrates and seals porous surfaces, providing a smooth finish with excellent hiding properties.

Stain & Odour Blocking: Blocks stains from water, nicotine, grease, oil, soot, rust, mildew, tannin, crayon, and lipstick.

Odour barrier: Blocks odours from fire damage, smoke, cigars, cigarettes, mildew, and pet urine.

Glossy surfaces: Can be applied to glossy enamel paint, clear finishes, cabinets, panelling, glass, Formica®, MDF, ceramic tile, and metal without sanding.

Surface preparation

Surfaces should be clean, dry, sound, and free of dust, dirt, excessive chalky material, grime, grease, oil, wax, mildew, wallpaper, adhesive, or any contamination that may interfere with adhesion. If unsure, wash the surface with an appropriate cleaning solution or solvent and rinse thoroughly.
