General description

This Ronseal Drive Seal Black (5 litres) is a high-performance acrylic coating designed to enhance the appearance of tarmac drives while effectively eliminating existing stains. Its quick-drying formulation allows the drive to be back in use in as little as 4 hours, providing a low sheen, slip-resistant finish that protects against weather damage and prevents oil and petrol spills from leaving unsightly stains.

Installation

Ensure all surfaces are clean and free from dust or loose material.

Remove dirt, moss, and lichen using a stiff bristle brush.

For oil or grease deposits, use Thompson's Oil & Drive Cleaner.

Fill any holes with fresh concrete or cold cure tarmac if needed.

Make sure any cleaners are rinsed off and the surface is dry before application.

For best results, apply on a dry day with temperatures above 10°C.

Use a long pile roller and tray for application.

Pour the product into the roller tray and fully load the roller.

Apply in an even coat, ensuring all irregularities are covered.

Wait 4 hours before applying a second coat.

Usage

Drive can be used after 4 hours of application.

Stir the product thoroughly before and during use.

Start painting from the furthest point to avoid painting yourself into a corner.

Clean equipment with warm water and detergent after use.

I started to put it on with a roller but it took ages and didn't go into the cracks so in the end I sprayed it. It would also be possible to pour it out of the tin and brush it on but this would be a bit long-winded. Spraying it was very quick, I have a mains pressure sprayer. Initial reaction from everyone is that I have a new tarmac drive bit it is starting to wear a bit where the car wheels go (we are on a slope so it is scuffing it as I turn into the drive). Overall, good so far.
