Description

General description

Climashield Masonry Protection Cream is a VOC-free, water-based protective treatment designed for brickwork, masonry, and render. This deeply penetrating masonry cream effectively acts as a damp proofer and brick sealer, forming a robust barrier against penetrating damp while allowing the substrate to breathe. It retains the original dry appearance of the surface and provides long-lasting protection against water penetration and damp spread, lasting up to 25 years.

Technical specifications

Chemical composition: Viscous masonry cream based on Advanced Silane/Siloxane chemistry

Coverage: 5 m² per litre on standard brickwork; up to 10 m² per litre on dense, less absorbent surfaces

Minimum application temperature: 10°C

Drying time: Penetrates and absorbs within 30 minutes to several hours, depending on surface porosity

Compatibility and accessories

Can be painted over with specialist silicate-based masonry paints (e.g., Seciltek & Earthborn) after a curing period of 7 days

Not suitable for use over K Rend or Monocouche render systems

Can be used on softwood (e.g., pine) but not recommended for hardwoods (e.g., oak, teak, mahogany)

Installation

Ensure the substrate is dry prior to application to allow proper absorption

Can be applied using a roller or paintbrush

Only one heavy application is generally required

Usage

Provides an additional barrier to flooding as part of an existing flood protection system

Helps improve thermal efficiency, potentially leading to energy savings of 6% to 29% when used with other green deal systems
