General description

Osmo Wood Wax Finish Satin in Oak is designed for all-round protection of interior wood surfaces. This product allows the wood grain to remain visible with transparent tones, while intensive tones can effectively hide the grain. It is highly durable, water and dirt resistant, and can withstand common liquid spills such as water, juice, tea, cola, and wine. Additionally, it is saliva-resistant and sweatproof, making it suitable for children's toys. The microporous, breathable finish does not crack, peel, or flake, and spot repairs or future applications can be done without sanding.

Installation

Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and frost-free.

Remove old microporous stains thoroughly and completely strip old paints and lacquers.

Fill small cracks and larger joints or holes with Osmo Wood Filler.

Sand the wood surface carefully, starting with coarse sandpaper; use P120-150 for flooring and P220-240 for furniture.

Remove sanding dust before applying the finish.

If possible, apply the first coat to all sides before installation.

Usage

For transparent color (one coat): Use an Osmo Flat Brush, Oil Finish Applicator Fleece, or Microfibre Roller to apply very thinly along the wood grain.

For a subtle stained effect, apply thinly with a lint-free cloth and wipe away within 20 minutes.

For intensive color (two coats): Apply very thinly with an Osmo Flat Brush or Microfibre Roller, allowing the second coat to dry thinly as well.

For mechanically loaded areas like flooring, apply a maximum of one coat and a thin top coat with clear Osmo Polyx®-Oil Original.

For white flooring, use a top coat with lightly white pigmented Osmo Polyx®-Oil Tints 3040 White.

Choose color tones that match or complement the natural wood tone.

Regular cleaning can be done with the green Dust-Mop from the Osmo Mop Cleaning Kit, and damp mopping with Osmo Wash and Care or Osmo Spray-Mop.

For maintenance, use Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner or Osmo Maintenance Oil.

Recoating can be done by applying one coat onto the clean and dry surface when wear is visible.

Other information

Important: Applying the product too generously and insufficient ventilation can delay drying time and create a strong oil smell.

Caution: Apply a maximum of one thin coat to cabinet interiors and drawers.

Trial application is recommended, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.
