General description

Owatrol DSP 800 is a powerful, dichloromethane-free multi-purpose paint stripper designed for the removal of various coating types, including alkyd, acrylic, polyurethane, epoxy, cellulose, and more. It effectively removes 2-pack paints and powder coatings without damaging the substrate, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. Fast-acting and ready to use, DSP 800 works on all surfaces (except plastic) and leaves a clean, coating-free surface that can be refinished after just 6 hours. It contains no acid, caustic soda, or potash, ensuring that it will not darken wood and requires no neutralization after use.

Usage

Ideal for removing car paint, stripping interior and exterior wood surfaces, getting rid of unwanted carpet glue, and stripping paint from stone and cement walls.

For optimal results, apply a uniform layer of DSP 800 according to the coating to be stripped.

Allow to work and periodically test with a scraper to see if the finish is softening.

Average working times:

Alkyd (Glycerophtalic) / Oil-based paint: 5 minutes per coat
Alkyd (Glycerophtalic) / Oil-based stain and varnish: 7-10 minutes per coat
Acrylic paints, stains, and varnishes: 45 minutes (may need to be done twice)
Other coatings (2-pack epoxy, cellulose, RSE, RPE, powder coatings): 7-45 minutes (according to your test)

After stripping, rinse the surface with warm water, white spirit, or acetone, or sand mechanically to remove any paraffin residue.

Other information

Do not use on plastics, GRP, or similar surfaces to avoid dissolving the material.

Avoid prolonged contact with aluminum.

Surfaces treated with DSP 800 may be slippery; tread with care.

Ensure the working environment is well-ventilated and wear chemical-resistant gloves, safety goggles, and protective clothing.

Open the container carefully to avoid sudden release of pressure and always close tightly after use.

Do not apply to hot surfaces or in full sun.

For coatings in sound condition, scratching the surface (e.g., sanding) can enhance effectiveness.
