Description
The Silverline 100mm (4") Bench Vice is a heavy-duty cast iron workshop vice built for tough clamping tasks that lighter vices can't handle reliably. The grey iron casting resists distortion under sustained pressure, so the jaws stay true even after repeated heavy use, and the hardened steel jaw plates provide a firm, secure grip on a wide range of materials. A swivel base lets the vice be rotated and locked into the most convenient working angle for the job at hand, rather than fixing the workpiece at a single fixed orientation.
The chrome-plated handle and lead screw keep the clamping action smooth over years of use, and a 120mm jaw opening is enough to hold a good range of workpiece sizes without needing a second, larger vice on hand. It's supplied with a built-in anvil for light hammering and shaping work right at the vice, saving a trip across the workshop for small jobs. At 290 x 165 x 165mm, it's compact enough to mount on most workbenches while still offering genuine cast-iron strength — a solid, no-nonsense choice for metalwork, woodworking, repairs and general garage use.

Built-in anvil - Provides a ready surface for light hammering and shaping work without leaving the vice.

Published on 24/12/2021, FranceConvenient for small actions. The rotation is laborious but is done anyway. The finishes are not crazy but when you're not looking at the price it does what you ask.
