General description

Smartseal Block Paving Sealer (Silk) is a solvent-based acrylic sealer designed to enhance the color and aesthetic appeal of both new and mature block paving. This high viscosity sealer creates a slight sheen on surfaces, providing longer lifespan and better overall protection. It is not suitable for clay pavers.

Technical specifications

Volume: 5 Litres

Coverage: First coat - 2.0 sq. metres per litre; Second coat - 3.5 sq. metres per litre

Application temperature: 12 - 23°C

Tack-free time: 2 hours at 20°C

Foot traffic: Permitted after 4 hours

Vehicle traffic: Minimum 24 hours at 20°C

Flash point: 40°C (Abel-Closed Cup)

Installation

Ensure paving is pressure washed to remove all surface debris.

Leave paving to dry for 3-4 clear and dry days.

Brush kiln-dried sand into all joints before sealing.

Apply 2 coats of Block Paving Sealer using a roller or sprayer, allowing 2-3 hours between coats.

Allow 24 hours for the sealer to completely cure.

Usage

Protect the sealed area from rain during the curing cycle.

Do not apply when the ground temperature is above 23°C or below 12°C.

Clean all equipment with Smartseal cleaner fluid after use.

Avoid applying deicing salts directly on sealed surfaces.

Smartseal Block Paving Sealer has been tested by the TRL (Transport Research Laboratory) and meets the SRV (Skid Resistance Value) for local authority pedestrian areas.

Health & Safety: Flammable liquid; keep the application area well ventilated and wear a respirator when applying.
