General description

Smartseal Block Paving Sealer (Silk) is a solvent-based acrylic sealer designed to enhance the color and aesthetic appeal of both new and mature block paving. It provides a slight sheen finish while offering long-lasting protection against oil, stains, weeds, and algae growth. This high viscosity sealer is easy to apply and is suitable for most patio slabs and block paving.

Technical specifications

Volume: 150ml

Coverage: 2.0 sq. metres per litre (first coat), 3.5 sq. metres per litre (second coat)

Application method: Sprayer or roller

Drying time: Tack-free within 2 hours at 20°C

Foot traffic: Permitted after 4 hours

Vehicle traffic: Minimum 24 hours at 20°C

Temperature range for application: 12 - 23°C

Flash point: 40°C (Abel-Closed Cup)

Installation

Ensure paving is pressure washed to remove all surface debris.

Leave paving to dry for 3-4 clear and dry days.

Brush kiln dried sand into all joints before sealing.

Apply 2 coats of Block Paving Sealer, allowing 2-3 hours between coats.

Allow 24 hours for the sealer to completely cure.

Usage

Protect the sealed area from rain during the curing cycle.

Clean all equipment with Smartseal cleaner fluid after use.

Avoid applying deicing salts directly on the sealed surface.

Other information

Not suitable for clay pavers.
