Calculate the airflow required for ventilation

To determine the CFM requirements, determine the size of the room. Measure and multiply the length, width and ceiling height of the room to determine the cubic length. Use the multiplication factor of 0.13 and round to the next "tenth" (. 10).

Example 1: Bathroom with 8-foot ceiling: 7 feet wide x 9 feet long x 8 feet high x 0.13 = 66. Select a fan with at least 70 CFM.

Example 2: Bathroom with 9-foot ceiling: 10 feet wide x 9 feet long x 9 feet high x 0.13 = 105. Select a fan with at least 110 CFM.
