General description

Osmo Decking Oil for Garapa wood is designed to enhance and protect wooden decking while maintaining its natural character. This oil is safe for humans, animals, and plants once dry, providing a highly water and dirt-resistant finish. Its microporous, penetrating formula prevents cracking, peeling, or flaking, and it requires no sanding when topping up the coating.

Recommended coats: 2 coats or one coat plus top coat of Osmo Anti-Slip Decking Oil 430

Moisture content max. for wood surface: 20%

Installation

Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and frost-free.

For bare wood species with high natural extractives, weather for a minimum of 4 weeks before treatment.

Resinous woods like Larch or Douglas Fir should weather for at least 6 weeks.

Pressure impregnated wood and tropical species require a weathering period of at least 3 months.

Greyed and weathered wood can be refreshed with Osmo Wood Reviver Power-Gel before applying the oil.

Lightly sand old microporous stains or remove old varnishes before application.

Apply the first coat to all sides of the wood if possible before installation.

Usage

Stir well before use with a flat stirring stick or spatula.

Apply thinly and evenly along the wood grain using a stiff brush (Osmo Flat Brush) or a lint-free cloth.

For easy application, use the Osmo Decking Brush (150 mm).

Allow for good ventilation while drying; lower temperatures and higher humidity will delay drying.

Apply the second coat thinly once the first coat is dry.

If a lighter color is desired, use clear Anti-Slip Decking Oil 430 for the second coat.

Other information

For additional protection against blue stain, rot, and insect attack, pre-treat the wood with Osmo WR Impregnation.

Always wear a dust mask when sanding.

The finished surface may vary based on the wood's condition; a trial application is recommended for unfamiliar surfaces.
