Description

General description

Osmo Wood Wax Finish Satin in Silk Grey is designed for all interior wood surfaces, providing all-round protection while allowing the wood grain to remain visible. This durable and hardwearing finish is water and dirt resistant, and it can withstand common liquid spillages such as water, juice, tea, cola, and wine. It is also saliva-resistant and sweatproof, making it suitable for children's toys. The microporous, breathable finish does not crack, peel, or flake, and spot repairs or future applications can be done without sanding.

Installation

Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and frost-free.

Remove old microporous stains thoroughly and completely strip old paints and lacquers.

Fill small cracks and larger joints or holes with Osmo Wood Filler.

Sand the wood surface carefully, starting with coarse sandpaper (P120-150 for flooring, P220-240 for furniture).

Remove sanding dust before applying the finish.

Apply the first coat to all sides of the wood if possible before installation.

Usage

Stir well before use; do not thin the product.

For transparent color (one coat): apply thinly with an Osmo Flat Brush, Oil Finish Applicator Fleece, or Microfibre Roller along the wood grain.

For a subtle stained effect, apply with a lint-free cloth and wipe away within 20 minutes.

For intensive color (two coats): apply thinly with an Osmo Flat Brush or Microfibre Roller, allowing the second coat to dry before applying.

For mechanically loaded areas like flooring, it is recommended to apply a maximum of one coat and a thin top coat with clear Osmo Polyx®-Oil Original.

Choose color tones that match or complement the natural tone of the wood.

Other information

Regular cleaning: Dust mop with the green Dust-Mop from the Osmo Mop Cleaning Kit for Floors.

Damp mop using Osmo Wash and Care or Osmo Spray-Mop.

Occasional maintenance: Use Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner or Osmo Maintenance Oil for intensive cleaning and refreshing.

Recoating: Reapply one coat onto the clean and dry surface when signs of wear become visible.
