General description

Liberon Natural Finish Floor Varnish Clear Matt is a hard-wearing and long-lasting varnish designed for both soft and hardwood flooring. It maintains the natural feel and look of the timber while utilizing a non-yellowing and quick-drying formula. This varnish significantly reduces the orange effect often seen in old softwood floors treated with other finishes and enhances the depth of color on dyed wood. It is highly resistant to scratches and stains, making it ideal for high-traffic areas.

Installation

Prepare the surface by sanding if necessary and removing all previous finishes.

Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and dust-free.

Shake or stir the varnish well before use.

Apply a reasonable coat of varnish evenly using a paintbrush or short hair roller.

Allow to dry for a minimum of 2 hours before applying additional coats.

It is recommended to apply a minimum of 3 coats, sanding lightly between coats if required.

For heavy traffic areas, more coats may be necessary.

Allow the final coat to dry for at least 24 hours before using the floor.

Usage

For coloring the wood, apply Libéron Palette Wood Dye before varnishing or mix it into the varnish for unique color tones (maximum 10% dilution).

Wipe any spills immediately to maintain the finish.

For general maintenance, use a damp mop or cloth with mild detergent if needed.

If wear is observed, reapply a coat of varnish or use Libéron Wood Floor Reviver.

Allow wood dyes to dry for a minimum of 8 hours before applying the varnish.

Test the product on a spare surface for color compatibility and end result.

Other information

The varnish may raise the grain on some hardwoods.

Not suitable for application over an oil-based sealer.

Remove as much product as possible from tools after use.

Do not dispose of residues and washing water/solvents in the sink, toilet, sewer, or bin to avoid environmental discharge.

Libéron is a French brand of V33, the leading manufacturer of paints and stains mainly for wood. The group owns the V33, Cecil, Diamantine, Libéron and Plastor brands. It was founded in 1953 in Domblans (Jura). In the 15th century, the royal abbey of Saint-Antoine des Champs obtained a privilege exempting craftsmen from paying taxes when they set up shop on its land. The Seine also provided cabinetmakers in particular with access to their raw materials. Georges Libéron made a name for himself at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900 with his antiseptic and parasiticide polish. One of its variations was the famous Oké paste. In 1990, V33 acquired the Libéron group, which specialised in cabinetmaking products and was the French leader in its field, having invented the legendary Black Bison wax, a decorative product for all surfaces. V33 and Libéron are very committed to protecting the environment: 50% of production is solvent-free, glycol ethers have been eliminated, and great care is taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
