Description

General description

Liberon High Resistance Varnish provides exceptional protection for wood floors, offering superior resistance to high foot traffic. It is particularly suited for rooms in constant use, such as hallways, dining rooms, lounges, kitchens, and stairs. This varnish delivers a durable, high-quality finish within 24 hours, featuring a low odour formula and a non-slip finish, making it ideal for family homes. With 60% the hardness of glass, it is also stain and water resistant.

Technical specifications

  • Volume: 2.5 litres
  • Coverage: 25-30m² per 2.5 litres
  • Drying time: 6 hours between coats, 24 hours total
  • Application method: Brush or roller
  • Tool cleaning: White spirit
  • Preparation

  • Sand the floor if required and remove all previous finishes.
  • Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and dust-free.
  • If desired, apply Libéron Palette Wood Dye to the timber before varnishing.
  • Application

  • Stir well before use.
  • Apply the varnish evenly with a brush or short hair roller.
  • Allow to dry for a minimum of 6 hours before applying further coats, lightly sanding the surface between coats if required.
  • A minimum of 3 coats is recommended for optimal durability.
  • For areas with heavy foot traffic, additional coats can be applied.
  • Allow the final coat a minimum of 24 hours drying time before using the floor.
  • Usage

  • Wipe any spills immediately.
  • For general maintenance, wipe over with a damp mop or cloth, using a mild detergent if necessary.
  • If the surface shows signs of wear, re-apply a coat of varnish or use Libéron Wood Floor Reviver.
  • Allow all wood dyes to dry for a minimum of 8 hours before applying the varnish.
  • Note that the varnish may raise the grain on some hardwoods and may darken certain types of timber.
  • Always test the product on a spare surface or inconspicuous area for colour compatibility and end result.
  • Other information

  • Important: Do not dispose of residues and washing water/solvents in the sink, toilet, sewer, bin, etc., to avoid environmental discharge.

    Libéron is a French brand of V33, the leading manufacturer of paints and stains mainly for wood. The group owns the V33, Cecil, Diamantine, Libéron and Plastor brands. It was founded in 1953 in Domblans (Jura). In the 15th century, the royal abbey of Saint-Antoine des Champs obtained a privilege exempting craftsmen from paying taxes when they set up shop on its land. The Seine also provided cabinetmakers in particular with access to their raw materials. Georges Libéron made a name for himself at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900 with his antiseptic and parasiticide polish. One of its variations was the famous Oké paste. In 1990, V33 acquired the Libéron group, which specialised in cabinetmaking products and was the French leader in its field, having invented the legendary Black Bison wax, a decorative product for all surfaces. V33 and Libéron are very committed to protecting the environment: 50% of production is solvent-free, glycol ethers have been eliminated, and great care is taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
