Description

General description

Smartseal Patio Sealer is designed to protect patio slabs from staining and weed growth while enhancing the color and aesthetic appeal of both new and mature concrete paving slabs. This sealer increases abrasion resistance, protects pointing from erosion, and provides a barrier against contaminants, making maintenance easier.

Average coverage: 4-6 sq metres per litre

First coat coverage: approx 4 sq metres per litre

Second coat coverage: approx 5 sq metres per litre

Tack-free time: 2 hours at 20°C

Foot traffic permissible after: 4 hours

Application temperature range: 15°C to 23°C

Flash point: 40°C (Abel-Closed Cup)

Preparation

New patios should be swept clean with sufficient pointing in the joints.

Existing paving should be pressure washed to remove surface debris.

If contaminated with weeds and moss, treat with Smartseal Moss Clear.

Remove oil using Smartseal Oil Remover.

Allow the treated area to dry and re-sand the joints with clean kiln-dried sand.

Ensure moisture in the paver and sand is minimized to avoid whiteness during sealing.

Installation

Apply using a sprayer unit or roller.

First coat application rate: 4 m² per litre.

Second coat application rate: 5 m² per litre.

Protect from rain during the curing cycle.

Clean all equipment with Smartseal cleaning fluid after use.

Usage

Enhances natural colors of pre-cast patio slabs.

Brings old patios back to life.

Resists oil and stain penetration.

Inhibits weed and algae growth.

For optimum results, apply two coats.

Other information

Do not use on natural stone or sandstone.

De-icing salts should not be applied directly on sealed surfaces.

Health & Safety: Flammable liquid; keep the application area well ventilated and wear a respirator when applying.
