Description

General description

Smartseal Block Magic is a premium blend of liquid pigments and acrylic resins designed to rejuvenate and protect block paving driveways and patios. This product effectively restores the color lost due to sun exposure, rain, vehicles, and pressure washing, ensuring your paving looks like new. It is suitable for application on old block paving, with the possibility of requiring two coats for a uniform finish.

Technical specifications

  • Coverage: 3 m²/litre on average (approximately 2.5 m²/litre on old pavers)
  • Application method: Roller
  • Drying time: 3 hours before re-sanding; tack-free within 2 hours at 20°C
  • Foot traffic permissible after 4 hours; vehicles should be kept off for a minimum of 24 hours at 20°C
  • Temperature range for application: 12°C to 23°C
  • Flash point: 40°C (Abel-Closed Cup)

    • Installation

  • Ensure paving is pressure washed to remove all debris and dirt from joints.
  • Leave paving to dry for 5 clear and dry days.
  • For original sand color: Apply one coat of Block Magic with a roller, then re-sand with kiln-dried sand.
  • For changing sand color: Apply two coats of Block Magic with a roller, allowing 2 hours between coats.
  • Ensure no rainfall is forecast for at least 8 hours after application.

    • Usage

  • Block Magic is designed to recolor and protect block paving.
  • It is not suitable for clay pavers or for use in combination with polyurethane.
  • For best results, apply a coat of Smartseal Block Paving Sealer (MATT or SILK) after the Block Magic has dried.
  • Expect 3-5 years of protection after proper application of the sealer, depending on traffic, weather, and maintenance.

  • Smartseal Block Paving Sealer has been tested by the TRL and meets the SRV for all categories of paving.
  • Health & Safety: Flammable liquid; keep area well-ventilated and wear appropriate protective gear (respirator, gloves, goggles).
