Description

General description

Smartseal Block Magic is a premium blend of liquid pigments and acrylic resins designed to rejuvenate and protect block paving driveways and patios. This product effectively restores the color lost due to sun exposure, rain, vehicles, and pressure washing, making your paving look like new again. It is suitable for application on old block paving, with the possibility of needing two coats for a uniform finish.

Technical specifications

  • Coverage: 3 m²/litre on average (may reduce to 2.5 m²/litre on old pavers)
  • Application method: Roller
  • Drying time: 3 hours before re-sanding; tack-free within 2 hours at 20°C
  • Foot traffic permissible after 4 hours; vehicles should be kept off for a minimum of 24 hours at 20°C
  • Temperature range for application: 12°C to 23°C
  • Flash point: 40°C (Abel-Closed Cup)

    • Installation

  • Ensure paving is pressure washed to remove all debris and contaminants.
  • Leave paving to dry for 5 clear and dry days.
  • For original sand color: Apply one coat of Block Magic with a roller, leave to dry, re-sand with kiln-dried sand, and apply a clear sealer.
  • For changing sand color: Apply two coats of Block Magic with a roller, allowing 2 hours between coats, and ensure no rainfall for at least 8 hours after application.

    • Usage

  • Block Magic is designed to recolor and protect block paving.
  • It is UV stable, color fast, stain resistant, and hard-wearing.
  • For optimal results, ensure the area is clean and dry before application.
  • After applying the sealer, expect protection lasting between 3-5 years, depending on traffic, weather, and maintenance.

    • Other information

  • Do not use on clay pavers or in combination with polyurethane.
  • For areas contaminated with weeds or moss, treat with Smartseal moss clear or weed killer before application.
  • Oil and other stains should be removed using Smartseal Driveway Cleaner or Oil Remover.
  • Smartseal Block Paving sealer has been tested for skid resistance and meets the SRV for local authority pedestrian areas.
