Description

General description

Smartseal Block Magic is a revolutionary product designed to restore and protect block paving driveways and patios. This blend of liquid pigments and acrylic resins penetrates deeply into the surface, revitalizing the color lost due to sun exposure, rain, vehicles, and pressure washing. It is ideal for transforming old block paving, making it look new again while providing long-lasting protection against future color loss, weeds, algae, and staining.

Technical specifications

  • Coverage: 3 m²/litre on average (approximately 2.5 m²/litre on old pavers)
  • Application method: Roller
  • Drying time: 3 hours before re-sanding; tack-free within 2 hours at 20°C
  • Foot traffic permissible after 4 hours; vehicles should be kept off for a minimum of 24 hours at 20°C
  • Temperature range for application: 12°C to 23°C
  • Flash point: 40°C (Abel-Closed Cup)

    • Installation

  • Ensure paving is pressure washed to remove all debris and muck from joints.
  • Leave paving to dry for 5 clear and dry days.
  • For original sand color: Apply one coat of Block Magic with a roller, then re-sand the surface with kiln-dried sand.
  • For changing sand color: Apply two coats of Block Magic with a roller, allowing 2 hours between coats, and ensure no rainfall is forecast for at least 8 hours after application.

    • Usage

  • Not suitable for clay pavers or in combination with polyurethane.
  • For best results, ensure the area is free from weeds and moss before application.
  • Oil and other stains should be treated with Smartseal Driveway Cleaner or Oil Remover prior to application.
  • After applying the sealer, expect protection lasting between 3-5 years, depending on traffic, weather, and maintenance.

  • Smartseal Block Paving sealer has been tested by the TRL (Transport Research Laboratory) and meets the SRV (Skid Resistance Value) for local authority pedestrian areas.
  • All materials comply with ISO 9002 for Quality Assurance.
