General description

Climashield Masonry Protection Cream is a VOC-free, water-based protective treatment designed for brickwork, masonry, and render. This deeply penetrating cream acts as a highly effective damp proofer and brick sealer, forming a robust barrier against penetrating damp while allowing the substrate to breathe, thus preventing moisture buildup.

Compatibility and accessories

Can be painted over with specialist silicate-based masonry paints (e.g., Seciltek & Earthborn) after curing for 7 days

Not suitable for use over K Rend or Monocouche render systems

Can be used on softwood (e.g., pine), but not recommended for hardwood (e.g., oak, teak, mahogany)

Installation

Ensure the substrate is dry prior to application to allow proper absorption

Can be applied using a roller or paintbrush

Due to its high viscosity, it allows for a drip and run-free application

Typically, only one heavy application is required

Penetration and absorption into the substrate occur within 30 minutes to several hours, depending on surface porosity

Usage

Provides long-lasting protection against water penetration and damp spread

Helps improve thermal efficiency, potentially leading to energy savings of 6% to 29% when used with other green deal systems

Maintains the original dry appearance of the substrate

Acts as an additional barrier to flooding when part of an existing flood protection system

Store in a cool, dark place to prevent contamination

Open containers only to remove the required amount and close immediately

Use up opened containers as quickly as possible
