General description

Climashield Masonry Protection Cream is a VOC-free, water-based protective treatment designed to waterproof brickwork, masonry, and render. This deeply penetrating cream acts as an effective damp proofer and brick sealer, forming a robust barrier against penetrating damp while allowing the substrate to breathe, thus preventing moisture buildup.

Coverage: 5 m² per litre on standard brickwork; up to 10 m² per litre on dense, less absorbent surfaces

Compatibility and accessories

Can be painted over with specialist silicate-based masonry paints (e.g., Seciltek & Earthborn) after curing for 7 days

Suitable for softwood (e.g., pine) but not recommended for hardwoods (e.g., oak, teak, mahogany)

Not suitable for use over K Rend or Monocouche render systems

Installation

Ensure the substrate is dry prior to application to allow proper absorption

Can be applied using a roller or paintbrush

One heavy application is generally sufficient

Penetration and absorption time varies from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on surface porosity

Usage

Provides long-lasting protection against water penetration and damp spread

Helps improve thermal efficiency, potentially leading to energy savings of 6% to 29% when used with other green deal systems

Retains the original dry appearance of the substrate
